• Description: This level was made after hours of trial and error to find the 'best' possible way of making it.

    So, the main gimmick of this level is to hold the up button to swim on the ceiling while holding a powerup. If you lose that powerup, you will not beat this level. And, if you get hit while swimming on the ceiling, you are basically doomed. Have fun!

Another level I can clear from my Play Later list, but in all seriousness, this was a n(ice) level idea. I could critique the level on its mild repetition of challenges, but I'm not going to do that since it made most of the worthwhile experience either way. With that having said, a little bit more of scenery could've been added to create a better flow of the visual/aesthetics rather than leaving a majority of the space blank, and you also want to be mindful of some of the slight cutoffs created by the placement of the pillars at x:6300.
Another thing I was able to do was swim past most of the challenges before the ghost circles show up. You saw how LB would struggle even in the early sections in his playthrough but well, I'm not LB :] (k no disrespect to Luigibonus, he's still an overall great SMF player but I'm simply better). Anyway, Mesopotamia, impressive effort with this level. The concept, although not entirely new, was utilized to effectively put together an amazing level. I never knew how talented of a level maker you could be!

Even though this gimmick wasn't new it's not used very often, and wasn't used in a bad way. Things were already mentioned from LB so I'll leave it at that. (I'm glad you actually stuck with the theme, some people switch the themes in their level for some reason)

This level is really fun! I haven't seen this gimmick used in ages, so it's nice to see it again after so long.
The challenges build around the gimmick were quite well designed as well, and there was a varied amount of them. It perhaps would've been cool to see the level do a little more crazy stuff with it, like have the boss area be full of spikes with Mario only be able to swim onto the ceiling and hit Boom Boom with very timed jumps. That would've actually created a very unique boss fight as well.

The visuals are actually also one of this level's strongest points. The water layered on top of the castle tiling actually looks very beautiful! Out of curiosity, I changed the BG to SMF2's Icy castle background, and it looks beautiful with that combination as well. It shows that with some little tricks you can make a level look quite atmospheric.

Overall, a pretty awesome and one of the most unique castle levels I've played for a while.
