Now that I finally got the golden opportunity to play this level from Tristaph's video, I decided to try this level despite some mixed reviews from other critics. I just happened to play what I expect should happen, but I like to see what is going on before I go all in.

Some of the playing experience was spot on. The springboard backtrack looked so-so but it was quite the right heat toward the end of the level. It wasn't bad at all, but I'm not sure I would call the springboard and key challenge quite a battle. The key exit got my blood to a boil (the way it is supposed to be).

The scenery was extremely empty, but at least some of the scenery tiles were placed in the beginning and middle of the level.

Why do I not understand why the monsters were spammed, yet it felt like a good challenge? There are a ton of monsters in one specific area near the end of the level, and if you "spam" them the right way, then that's the spirit!

Overall it was good, but the scenery and monster placement has got to improve drastically. I'll personally give this level another chance, but it better not be lame results.

The Flying Dutchman | 70/100

While this level offered some solid gameplay, it had a lot of hiccups here and there: cheap deaths and blind jumps are a main issue, try to work them out by adding indicators and not cheaply dropping saws or flying koopas on top of the player.

the challenges some times got repetitive due to the dull structure of the level; a big portion consisted of a hallway filled with enemies, sometimes spammy, which led to a low challenge potential, the repetition of spinners clearly shows this.

on another note, the first challenge had quite a second cycle only wait to it, it was fun to traverse and overal the level kept me on edge, but the flaws made a huge dent in that, especially the enemy spam at the end.

Mesopotamia | 30/100

This level is mediocre at best. The lack of design and the way you positioned obstacles makes this level a boring and unexciting piece to play. Not to mention there is a minor cut-off with the lava and a tile at the beginning, which can be easily fixed by using Layer 2. The biggest thing that really bugged me is that one blind jump at X:2680 where you have to bounce off a koopa and reach another vertically-moving cloud platform.

For the part before that massive blind jump, it feels like this level is rushed as there is nothing exciting to play, and then the final part where you first have to get the Trampoline in a small hallway at the bottom part of the level to jump to the top part of the level to grab the key to the chest to complete the level. Oh man, that feels even more rushed as there are only... just enemies placed in a very straight line in both hallways. Lastly, that one Piranha plant that came out from a platform tile in the bottom hallway makes no sense.

The gameplay was 'there', but the heart and soul weren't. So I can't even give this a half-decent score I'm afraid.
