Great level, surely the best I've seen from you. It felt like you thought a lot more this time about how to create innovative setups, and it paid off. Use of spikes was interesting as you had to spin jump over the balls in areas where the ceiling wasn't too low. The visuals were nice-looking, still room for improvement and even more care for details, but it is nice to see you doing some more interesting things with your tiling. So good job there.

The saws at y40 could've been done without and replaced with something else; given that you introduced several creative elements in this level frankly it would've been nice to seen a bit more of them. Thwimps, thwomps, a single bullet blaster are all things that are introduced once and then never picked up, giving the structure of the level a slightly haphazard feel. The spikeball chase was also odd... it felt like a nice idea that you didn't know how to develop. I was surprised that that the chase was so brief... you could've made it longer and put more things in the way, perhaps some of the enemies that were introduced earlier in the level. If you added some piranha plants, or thwimps, or ball'n'chains to the spikeball chase, it would give it this feeling like it was tying things together: a final challenge that brings together several elements that were introduced separately throughout the level.

I loved the boss fight. In a less original and simpler boss fight that many lives would've been too much, but here the amount of lives meant you couldn't fluke it. If you wanted to beat Boom Boom you had to learn his patterns and use them to your advantage. The first couple tries the difficulty felt sky-high but once I learned how to use his patterns and Mario's bouncing to my advantage, it felt awesome to kick his ass. An excellent, skill-based boss fight.

I love this! You saw me play it on livestream so you know what I think. Not to mention that was one helluva boss battle!!!! What an idea tho. Admittedly I was a bit intimidated by Boom Boom's sheer speed and abilities until after a couple tries which was when I developed a strategy. If there's one thing I'd change it'd be Boom Boom's health since 7 lives is a bit overkill given the already challenging and sometimes unpredictable movement. Safe to say this is one of the best SMC levels out there.

The Flying Dutchman | 93/100

wow! your overly complicated setups worked out for once.. and well, since its SMC... your levelmaking style transitioned for the better with the swap of games. the challenges were consistent and always fun and varying + you gave a very good power-up and 1-up distribution to the player, the boss however... bit too much of a guessing work to beat as it drained through my lives and i just managed to beat it on the same run.

the background in the tower could've used more of a darker tint to to fit the atmosphere more, other than that i loved it.

Damn, this is an amazing level! Everything, from the gorgeous Custom Music to the engaging and enjoyable gameplay made this one of the best levels I've seen in a long, long while! Seriously, this level is that good.

To sum it up, this level was a joy to play and extremely satisfying to complete. That Spinning Spikeball challenge was my favourite section of Map 3. It was so simple in design, yet fairly difficult to master and it felt so good when I got past it, Mushroom and all!

The Boss fight was quite the experience. The concept itself was similar to the rest of the challenges presented in this level: Simple yet brilliant. The music was also perfect for this section: Fast and Exciting like boss music should be! Unfortunately I have to agree with LTL on the basis that it is slightly unfair lives-wise. At most, he should have 4 lives, 5 would be pushing it. 7 lives is too much.

Other than that minor gripe, this level was perfect and it's going straight onto the favourites list. If this doesn't get featured then I'll eat my laptop.

-1% for the slightly unfair Boss battle

Vert fitting bg and music along with good scenery! Very clever yet difficult challenges. Good showcase of the spike enemy. Boss fight was a little too unbalanced with Boom boom's crazy stats.
